Gary studied at Seale Hayne and the Royal Agricultural College before joining Grant Thornton in 1987 and is a member of the Agricultural Law Association. He has been involved in practical farm management and worked for the NFU and the Barclays Bank Group. In 1990/91 he worked in Australia lecturing at Marcus Oldham Agricultural College in farm and equine management.

Gary is the author of the first and second editions of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Accountancy and Auditing Guide for Farming. He is a partner in a 2,000 acre farming business.

Gary is a director, looking after farms and estates. He particularly specialises in setting up farming joint ventures and in solving problems in larger family owned agricultural businesses relating to strategic growth, inheritance planning and succession.
